Best of 2013- Break-out Artists and Albums.

2013 seems like it was here and gone in a flash but it was not without its fair share of great hip-hop. Certain artists really made waves this year, but none more than artists like: Pusha-T, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z.

I would have to say that Pusha T had the most incredible year, and really surprised me with his lyric content growth from the time of the Clipse. His album had some really good jams, and a decent mix of rappers; especially, rappers that Pusha can hit way harder than (2- chainz and Big Sean).  Eminem made history with his album, Marshall Mathers LP2, making it his 6th straight #1 album! A lot of people hated on the album, but Eminem really cannot be touched lyrically. His lyrics were crazy and his delivery was relentless and on-point. To me, the only thing that really makes a legend in rap is longevity, and this year Jay-Z, Eminem and Talib Kweli showed us that time doesn’t change much for amazing artists. Talib came out with two albums within the same year: Prisoner of Conscious and Gravitas; both were really well-made and had a bunch of banging songs and features. Makes me happy that lyricism can still survive in a time where beats seem to rule the hip-hop enviroment. If you haven’t already, go check out some of these artists new stuff and support good music.
