Canadian hip-hop; we can rap to eh!

What’s happening everybody, in this post I really want to shed some light on the Canadian hip-hop industry, talk about some recent news about Lil Wayne apparently hinting at the drop of “Dedication 5” and more songs will be added to my playlist for all you dope track junkies.

The Canadian independent music industry is actually a huge contributor to Canada’s economy and creates a lot of jobs with high potential earnings. However, I feel as though Canadian hip-hop artists are not as relevant as they should be globally. Classified is a perfect example of a pure artist; meaning, he does everything from producing, sampling and rapping himself. With certain exceptions: Drake, Kardinal Offishall; Canadian artist mostly seem to remain relevant only in Canada. Hip-hop is universal, so explore this genre and see what this world has got to offer.

Lil Wayne; in his not so recent song “Bugatti”, made a reference to the drop of “Dedication 5” as his next album. He has made hints and statements before; however, YMCMB’s president, Mack Maine tweeted shortly after the release of this song confirming the hint is true. I realize this news is not exactly new, but given the mans health concerns and the fact that its weezy I'm talking about. I consider the news to be relevant. Keep your eyes and ears open for that people, and I really do wish good health to Lil Wayne.
